Hill Group appointed BCC Consultancy to provide specialist Building Control consultancy support for the Joyce & Snells Estate Redevelopment, a major regeneration scheme involving the demolition of existing homes and the delivery of new high-rise residential buildings.
THE PROJECT
Helping a complex scheme prepare for Gateway 2
The development is being delivered under the Building Safety Regulator regime and includes several higher-risk buildings. BCC joined the project during RIBA Stage 4 to provide independent regulatory advice and help coordinate the information needed for a robust Gateway 2 submission.
Our role was to bring clarity to responsibilities, review the technical design information and help the wider team evidence Building Regulations compliance in a clear, traceable way.

Coordinating Building Regulations information across multiple disciplines
-
Identifying and resolving gaps before the Gateway 2 submission
-
Providing clear evidence of compliance with the regulations

-
Reducing the risk of avoidable delay during regulatory review
