BCC Consultancy acted as specialist Building Regulations and Building Safety advisor to the Principal Designer on Kidbrooke Village Phase 5 Block C, a higher-risk residential development of four interconnected apartment buildings.
THE PROJECT
Four interconnected buildings from 3 to 15 storeys
The development provides 341 one, two and three-bedroom apartments arranged around landscaped podium gardens. It uses reinforced concrete frame construction with brick-clad facades, attached balconies and mechanically ventilated smoke ventilation systems serving the common corridors.
Our role was to support the Building Regulations Principal Designer function, advising on compliance with the Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act 2022 throughout design development and the Gateway 2 approval process.

BCC advised the client, the Building Regulations Principal Designer and the design team on compliance throughout design development. We undertook technical design reviews and inspections, advised on compliant design solutions and supported the Gateway 2 and Gateway 3 regulatory submissions for the building.
